Keeler die-although he'd falled in love with her. |

Pon farr, the "time of mating." During the Pon farr ceremony, Spock's betrothed,
T'Pring invoked Koon-ut-kal-if-fee to challenge the marriage, choosing Kirk
as her champion. Driven by the Vulcan plaktow blood fever, Spock nearly killed
Kirk with a lirpa. Dr. McCoy injected Kirk with a neural paralyzer to simulate
death, ending the duel. Given the circumstances, no charges were filed. |
