4.5" Multipacks of Figures Produced by Playmates

Playmates did not release very many sets of figures. Perhaps the Classic Star Trek Set and the Officers Set initially discouraged the company because they were over-produced and didn't sell out immediately. They also commanded higher prices than single figures.

In 1998, the sets returned with a vengeance, with a total of 5 scheduled for release!

1701 Star Trek 3-Pack (Released Late March 1998) Many collectors requested the limited Edition Picard, Yar, and Barclay to be re-issued. With only 1,701 Picard and Yar, and only 3,000 of Barclay, many collectors had been unable to get them. Aside from not being carded individually, Yar and Picard differ slightly from the original issue. Picard is missing a black star symbol on the insignias in his belt and comm pin. Their feet are not individually numbered either, however they were originally planned to be. 20,000 sets were produced. Production was originally planned for 50,000 sets.	16122 Lt. Captain James Kirk with Balok and Balok's Puppet (TOS "The Corbomite Maneuver") Alien Series Released August 1998 No articulation for either Balok or the puppet, and Kirk is a re-paint from the classic set. Captain Jean-Luc Picard as "Dixon Hill" Guinan as "Gloria" (ST:TNG "Clues") Holodeck Series Released August 1998 Although Picard is a re-paint from the "Picard as Dixon Hill" figure, Guinan as Gloria is the best figure and likeness in recent memory! Ensign Harry Kim Species 8472 (As seen in ST:VOY "Scorpion") Alien Series Released in November 1998 Species 8472 - AMAZING figure, Features lots of articulation, and the paint job is amazing. Lt. Commander Data Lt. Worf Alexander Rozhenko (As seen in ST:TNG "A Fistful of Datas") Holodeck Series Released in November 1998 Worf and Alexander are re-issued from Assortment 6430. Data is added to this series. (Troi was also issued in Assortment 6430.) Alexander "mini figure" has no points of articulation. Captain James Kirk in Interphase Mister Spock Late 1999 - Target Exclusive. Spock is from the 1993 Classic Collector Figure Set and Kirk is re-issued from the 1997 Environmental Suit Assortment 6430 with the lower part of the figure and hands somewhat "see through" - similar to the transporter figures.
