While the Enterprise was enroute to Altair VI on a diplomatic mission, I observed Spock behaving in an atypical manner. He was increasingly restive, almost nercous, and rejected food for three days. Spock requested that Cpatain Kirk grant him a leave of absence on his homeworld without explanation.

Spock was suffering from Pon Farr, the Vulcan "time of mating." Starfleet ordered the captain to proceed directly to Altair VI but, when my exam showed Spock would die if he didn't return home, the captain defied the orders and delivered Spock to Vulcan.

I joined Captain Kirk and Spock on the VUlcan surface for the Pon Farr ritual. T'Print, Spock's intended mate, chose Kirk as her champion to figure Spock to the death in the Koon-ut-hal-if-fee. Captain Kirk was unable to defend himself in the thin Vulcan air, wo I injected him with a neural paralyzer to simulate death. The ceremony purged Spock of his blood fecer, and Kirk survived the incident.

Given the extremely personal nature of the Pon Farr, this file should remain classified.
